Lauderhill Performing Arts Center and Library awarded to D. Stephenson Construction

Fort Lauderdale, FL – The Commission of Lauderhill selected D. Stephenson Construction to provide construction management services for their new Lauderhill Performing Arts Center and Library project.

Lauderhill is assigning up to $440,000 from its Federal Energy Block Grant to qualify the building to be built to LEED Gold standards. This will be the first LEED Gold Performing Arts Center in the Southeast United States. Performing Arts Centers typically consume a large amount of energy due to its size and needs. By building to the LEED Gold Standard, the costs of operation will be significantly less, estimated at least 30% less then a non LEED Building.

This $13.5 million project will be located in Central Regional Park, Lauderhill, Florida and is expected to open by November 14, 2011.
