D. STEPHENSON CONSTRUCTION PROVIDING SERVICE FOR COUNTY’S FIRST FEDERAL STIMULUS GRANTFort Lauderdale, FL – The Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is the recipient of Broward County’s first portion of stimulus money, intended to improve airline safety. D. Stephenson Construction is providing labor, materials, equipment, services and incidentals on the $4.4 million project to replace the 20-year-old paving around concourses D, E and F. D. Stephenson provided the lowest bid among the nine firms who submitted for the project, coming in below the amount airport officials had expected. The grant for the project is part of a larger $1.1 billion appropriation that set aside for airports as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. DSC has successfully completed a number of projects at the airport, including pedestrian bridges, the parking toll plaza, security checkpoints, and an addition and renovation of Terminal 4. |
